People familiar with the matter, who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss the confidential investigation, said the SEC is reviewing Boeing's statements around the January 5 Alaska Airlines Gate incident.

The SEC's review does not necessarily mean enforcement action, but if the agency finds that a company or its executives made false or misleading statements, it could result in fines. Regulators have not charged the company or its managers with misconduct.
